Mrs Harvey had a driveway that was old and worn, which is not the look she wanted for her lovely home. She decided to replace it with a lovely new Herringbone Block Paving Drive. To start with, we had to remove the old concrete drive and excavate the existing soil and rubble. That completed, we turned our attentions to the new hardcore and weed control. We lay a heavy duty membrane and type one hardcore to create a solid base.
With the hardcore compacted, we began laying the sand base and then the block paving. The blocks were laid in a herringbone design with mixed shades to create a mottled effect. Around the edge of the drive we laid pavers to frame the driveway. The entire job took three days to complete from start to finish.
